Why Custom Autosound?

Your original AM radio sounds like a tin can full of bees. Modern radios look like spaceships and ruin the dash. Custom Autosound makes radios that LOOK vintage but have Bluetooth, USB, aux input, and 200W of actual power.

Pop it in your stock opening. No cutting, no adapters, no bullshit. Plug and play.

What You Get

- Classic faceplate: Knobs, chrome, and vintage styling - Modern guts: Bluetooth, USB, 4-channel amp (25W x 4) - Auxiliary input: For your phone or iPod (if you're old school) - OEM fit: Direct replacement for factory radio opening

Cost: $200-$350 depending on features. Installation is plug-and-play if your car still has the factory wiring harness.

Models to Consider

USA-630: Base model. AM/FM, aux input, 25W x 4. No Bluetooth. $200.

USA-740: Mid-tier. Bluetooth, USB, remote control. Best value. $280.

Secretaudio SST: Hidden stereo (no visible head unit). Mount it under dash, control via phone. $350.

For most builds, the USA-740 is the sweet spot. You get Bluetooth for calls and Spotify, USB for road trip playlists, and enough power to run modern speakers without an external amp.

Installation Overview

1. Disconnect battery - Always disconnect ground before touching wiring

2. Remove old radio - Pull knobs, unscrew mounting brackets, slide out - Disconnect antenna, power, and speaker wires

3. Wire new radio - Custom Autosound includes adapter harness - Match wire colors: red to 12V switched, yellow to constant 12V, black to ground - Connect speaker wires (usually color-coded pairs)

4. Mount and test - Slide into dash, bolt in, reconnect battery - Power on, pair phone, play music

Total time: 90 minutes if you're slow.

Speaker Upgrade (Recommended)

Your factory speakers are paper cones from 1968. They distort at 50% volume. Replace them with modern 4" or 6x9" coaxials:

- Dash speakers: 4" dual-cone (60W RMS) - Rear deck: 6x9" coaxials (100W RMS)

Most classic cars have kick panel or rear deck mounting locations. Speakers bolt in with adapters or simple brackets. Budget $100-$200 for a full speaker swap.

What to Expect

You'll crank the radio to 60% volume and realize holy shit, this is what bass sounds like. Modern speakers and 25W of clean power make a massive difference.

Bluetooth pairing is seamless. Calls are clear. And when someone asks "Is that the original radio?" you say "Yep" and smile.
